Rosa Brook Waste Transfer Station Survey
On the 13 August 2008, the Augusta Margaret River Shire Council adopted a 'Strategic Waste Management Plan – Towards Zero Waste'. This Strategic document is a guide for improving waste management and recycling processes for the benefit of the community.
An important part of the Strategic Waste Management Plan is to undertake regular reviews to ensure that effective and efficient waste services are provided to the community.
The following survey which should only take 10 – 15 minutes is to gain the views of land owners and residents living in the vicinity of Rosa Brook, regarding waste disposal and the Rosa Brook Waste Transfer Station.
Your comments are essential so that Council can consider the issues that are important to you and prepare future waste management strategies for the benefit of the whole community.
Comments are invited and should be lodged prior to the 29 July 2009 in writing using the survey form.

Ward Review
Council at Thursday, 23 April 2009 Ordinary Meeting, adopted Option C in the Review of Wards, with an amendment, and voted to continue the ward system due to the existence of strong communities of interest and the need for local representation of those communities.
A report will be submitted to the Local Government Advisory Board to propose:
- The number of councillors remain at seven as appropriate for the size and population of the Shire;
- The abolition of the current four wards due to inequitable councillor to elector representational ratios and the creation of three new wards (Option C), with two councillors representing a smaller Margaret River ward, three councillors representing a coastal and north ward and two councillors representing a south ward; with a northern boundary along the Margaret River and Mowen Road;
- The naming of the three wards as the Margaret River Ward, the North Ward and the Leeuwin Ward, and
- The three sitting Councillors whose terms of office expire in 2011 retaining their offices until October 2011 in the newly created wards as follows; Cr Middleton (Margaret River Ward), Cr Serventy (North Ward) and Cr Smart (Leeuwin Ward).
