Arts & cultural activities
Overview
The Shire provides support to the local group Arts Margaret River to assist with the coordination of performing, visual and other arts based productions from the Margaret River Cultural Centre.
The Shire also has involvement in Icon Events such as
- Cow Parade
- Margaret River Wine Region Festival
- Drug Aware Surfing Pro
- Anaconda Adventure Race
- Great Escapade Bike Ride
- Cape to Cape Mountain Bike Race
Events are supported where there are significant benefits across economic, social and environmental considerations.
Future Plans
Work has begun with local community members on a public arts project in Augusta aimed at creating a point of difference perspective for the township with the intent of attracting more visitors to stay longer in the local area.

- Arts Margaret River (9758 7316 or info@artsmargaretriver.com.au) is the peak arts based body in the region, regularly hosting a wide range of local, state and interstate performances from the Margaret River Cultural Centre.
- Hire of the Cultural Centre can be arranged througha Arts Margaret River.
