Shire Wards
The public are welcome to attend any Ordinary meeting. Additionally, there is
a public participation segment at the beginning of each Meeting. During this
time the public may ask questions. Public forums are by request only, which must
be made in writing at least one week before each Council meeting. Requests must
be addressed to the CEO and marked attention: Administration Officer.
Council Ordinary Meetings are held on the second & fourth Wednesday of each
month at 5.30pm; and alternate between Margaret River and then either Augusta or
Cowaramup.
Council Chambers are at the Administration Centre, Town View Terrace,
Margaret River and the Augusta Shire Office on Allnutt Terrace, Augusta
Special Council meetings are called from time to time on specific matters,
with the details of the time and location being advertised in accordance with
the Shire's Standing Orders Local Laws.

About The Shire Of Augusta Margaret River

The Shire has a Population of approximately 10,350 growing at 1.5% per annum
and receives around 1.5 million visitors and tourists each year. (See
Statistics)
Located a three hour drive from Perth in the extreme south west corner of
Western Australia, The Shire of Augusta Margaret River occupies some 2370Km2.
Major towns are Margaret River, Augusta and Cowaramup, with hamlets at
Witchcliffe, Karridale, Prevelly/Gnarabup, Gracetown and Rosa Brook.
The region boasts many natural attractions and its burgeoning food and wine
industries make it an icon for Australian tourism. The Shire has dramatic
coastlines, majestic Karri forests and stunning limestone caves.
Wine and Margaret River are synonymous-with in excess of 70 wineries in the
region, many boasting award winning wines and gourmet vineyard meals.
For the active there is plenty to do, with an outstanding network of trails,
surfing, diving, fishing, whale watching and much more.
