Development
Infrastructure
The Shire is responsible for the development and maintenance of a range of infrastructure including roads, bridges, paths, drains, car parks, signage, parks and reserves and foreshore areas. It should be noted that State Highways are managed and maintained by Main Roads WA which include Bussell Highway, Brockman Highway, Caves Road and Sues Road.
The Works team delivers the annual construction program and maintains our transport, drainage and foreshore infrastructure, parks and reserves including major facilities at Gloucester Park.
The Asset Services Team oversees the construction of infrastructure created by developers during the subdivision and development of land, maintains an inventory of the Shire’s infrastructure assets, prepares asset management plans, investigates customer requests, prepares long term works programs, undertake Landcare initiatives, seeks grant funding, coordinates land administration matters, such as dedication of roads, conducts traffic counts and assesses applications for heavy haulage permits.
