Getting around
Road
The most popular way to travel to and around the Margaret River region is by road. Margaret River is over 3 hours drive from Perth, using the South Western Highway (State Route 20) and then Bussell Highway (State Route 10) out of Busselton which runs directly to Margaret River. Alternatively, you can take the Tonkin Highway (State Route 4) from Perth, onto the Roe Highway (State Route 3), the Kwinana Freeway (National Route 1 - State Route 2) and then Bussell Highway (State Route 10).
It is an easy 40 minute drive from Margaret River to Augusta.
Rental Cars
The major private car rental companies operate in Western Australia with rental vehicles able to be collected at the Perth Airport. Some hire companies have vehicles for hire in Margaret River.
Coach
South West Coachlines travels daily between Perth to Margaret River and Augusta. Two services are provided in the morning and one in the afternoon Monday to Friday and one service in the morning and one in the afternoon on the weekend.
TranswWA provides on morning and one coach service a day to Margaret River and Augusta. For times refer to the Perth to Augusta/Pemberton via Bunbury timetable.
Rail
The closest rail station is Bunbury. TransWa provides services daily between Perth and Bunbury. For times refer to the Perth to Bunbury Timetable on the TransWa website.
Perth Airport International and Domestic Flights and City Shuttle
The Perth Airport City Shuttle has several convenient pick-up points located near hotels, motels and hostels in Perth, including Northbridge, the Central City, East Perth, West Perth, Mill Point Road and Great Eastern Highway.
At Terminal 1 (International), the Perth Airport City Shuttle meets every arrival within 45 minutes of customs clearance. This service is also available at the domestic terminals, with the Perth Airport City Shuttle meeting each domestic arrival within 30 minutes of luggage collection.

Margaret River Airstrip
Commercial operators do not have flights into the Margaret River region.
Private planes can land at the Margaret River or Augusta airstrips by prior arrangement. Further information is available under Airstrips on conditions of use of the airstrips.
