Parklands

Throughout the Shire there are a range of parks that allow residents and visitors to make the most of the regions scenic locations. Most of the district's beaches feature parking areas with facilities including playground equipment, barbecues, chairs and tables, taps, and shaded areas.

Margaret River Skate Park

Located on Wallcliffe road as part of Gloucester Park, it is renowned as the best skate park in the south west. This park boasts a half pipe with extension, a bowl, wave ramp, ¼ pipe, fun box and numerous roll-ins and hips. The park also has great lighting that is available several nights through out the week until 10pm. This park is ideal for all levels of skating from beginners to advanced levels.  The park is set on a site called the ‘Zone’, a youth space that includes the Zone Room youth centre, dirt jumps, beach volleyball, and a mini basketball court. 

Pioneer Park - Bussell Highway Cowaramup

The home of a major public art project, The story of 30 years of the dairy & viticulture primary industries is illustrated on the stage in the amphitheatre - From a Glass of Milk to a Glass of Wine. Popular Sundowners are regularly held here over summer.

Rotary Park - Margaret River

Riverside Park with excellent picnic and barbecue facilities, shaded areas, playground equipment, toilet facilities and information board. Many of the areas heritage trails start from this park. (See Walk Trails)

Memorial Park - Margaret River

Located in the centre of Margaret River, this park is a popular rest area. The Park has excellent children’s play equipment, is the site of the war memorial and venue for the Anzac and Remembrance Day services. The Park is dominated by a large Oak tree planted to commemorate the crowning of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth ²², 2nd June 1953.

Reuther Park - Margaret River

Situated at the southern end of the main street of Margaret River, this park provides a shady respite from the walk up the hill.

Gloucester Park - Margaret River

Located on Wallcliffe Road, adjacent to the Recreation Centre, Gloucester Park is the centre for outdoor sports with 3 ovals, cricket pitch and hockey field. The football, tennis and bowling clubs are all located within this park.

Augusta Civic Park

Located on Allnutt Terrace, Augusta’s major park features: - ovals, croquet, bowling, tennis courts and a par three golf course. The Rural Transaction Centre, Civic centre, hydrotherapy pool and library are also located on this site.

Augusta Skate Park

Located behind Civic Oval, Augusta Skate Park is a small and compact facility. The park includes a half pipe, several rails, a bowl and roll-in. Renovated recently, the park now has a limestone retaining wall that can be used for seating, a shelter, toilets and a drink fountain.
