CommunityCONNECT portal

The CommunityCONNECT portal is a free resource to provide greater access to the community on community group information.  Visitors to the website are able to search for particular types of groups or groups in their area.  Groups can register with the Shire and maintain their own group information, as well as include information on meetings and events for the benefit of others in the community.

Associations Incorporation Act 2015

As of 1 July 2016 the new Associations Incorporation Act 2015 came into effect. This means that every incorporated community group and association will be required to change their constitution to comply with the new rules.

The new law requires associations to update their rules as well as introduce a number of changes regarding financial reporting, governance, privacy, the rules and membership of incorporated associations.

Community Network Group

The Shire facilitates the Augusta Margaret River Community Network Group (CNG), which provides a forum for local human service providers to connect and collaborate. This includes quarterly meetings and regular e-updates via the google group forum.

Established in 2006, the group was formed to improve communication, networking, coordination and sharing of resources and ideas between various stakeholders. The groups regularly discuss disability access and inclusion, youth, health, education, community safety, active ageing, funding, volunteering, training and other development opportunities.

Community based organisations and interested community members are also welcome.

Join the CNG through the google group forum or email the group at
